Last entry, and how long to allow

The official site publishes a last-entry time only for the cathedral (16:40 in summer, 15:40 in winter) and the Great South Tower (17:30, 16:30). For the other buildings it gives only the closing time, so plan to be inside well before it. The official site does not give a recommended visit length; the only duration it states is that its recorded audio guide runs for about 3 hours, with 96 stops.

Gardens by season

The Royal Garden, the Stag Moat and the South Gardens are open from 10:00 to 19:00 from April to June and in September, until 20:00 in July and August, until 17:00 in October and March, and are closed to the public from 1 November to 28 February. The Garden on the Bastion is open during the hours of the complex.

Bags, security and photos

The official site asks visitors not to bring large baggage into the Castle area; it does not state a maximum size. The entrances are guarded, with random preventive searches, and you can be refused entry if you decline a check. Bags and umbrellas must be left before entering a building where there is a designated place, and eating and drinking inside the buildings is banned.

Photography is banned in The Story of Prague Castle, the Cathedral Treasury, the Powder Tower and the Picture Gallery. In the other buildings the regulations ask for no flash and no tripod, and they mention that photography is allowed with a purchased licence; we could not confirm what that licence is, so check the official regulations.

Access for visitors with reduced mobility

The regulations say all buildings open to the public have barrier-free access, with the exceptions of the White Tower, the Daliborka Tower, the Powder Tower, the Great South Tower of the cathedral and the defence corridors in Golden Lane near the Daliborka. Holders of a disability ID enter free.
